Ada The Creator is a vulnerable compass in a desensitized world, mirroring a journey to self through creative pieces. An intersectional creative movement to provoke the boundaries of the norm where marginalized groups are concerned. Emphasis on black femmes and the youth. ​

 

A renowned writer, Ada The Creator, is the first-generation advocate for change. A Nigerian American multifaceted creative with a passion for shifting the norm through artistic forms of expression. Ada is a necessary creative movement for change. Especially where modern black girlhood is concerned. This movement is the product of and solution to maneuvering desensitized and oppressive structures backed up by culture, power, and even the justice system; in a male-dominated world. The chances of changing the course of history where oppressive systems are concerned are slim, even slimmer every time they are invalidated, silenced, or dismissed. This creative movement aims to shed light on these issues as often as they occur on diverse platforms. This movement seeks to debunk silence completely. Growing up under oppressive circumstances in Nigeria, Ada rebelled with their imagination, writing circumstances to better, conjuring up stories, and sharing them with anyone who would listen. Since then, they nurtured and developed several creative skills and abilities, but the thrill of language and creation they first discovered as a child has never gone away. While they have written and been published since 2011, They started writing professionally in 2016 and have no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

ADATHECREATOR is building a community that begins with a journey to self. The movement starts with a journey to know, understand and nurture yourself creatively. To find self and be so secure, your very being is the audacity to challenge the norm as often as it tries to invalidate your being. The reality is making sense of self could take a lifetime. Everything learned is internalized to wage a war of confusion on who you are which is ethically subjective. However, there is no sense of self if you cannot tell where you end or begin from your surroundings. Naturally, finding who you are in a world with expectations of who you should be will come with challenges. For one, you are yet to meet yourself. It is essential to learn, unlearn and relearn where you differ from the expectations. Internalizing them can reflect how you carry yourself, define yourself, and understand yourself. It could decide who you are before you do, and self is too precious to be sacrificed so. Finding self feels unnecessarily complex because it is, and it does not get much easier from there. There are consequences for choosing yourself; you have to decide if you are worth the cost. Nonetheless, it is possible. As many times as it takes to get it right.
